On Wednesday, New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan told the San Francisco media that 49ers tight end Vernon Davis is the best in the NFL.
“If you’re not looking at Vernon Davis, what are you kidding me?” Ryan said. “The guy runs a 4.3, the best tight end, the No. 1 tight end in football, in my opinion. You got that Gronkowski kid, but this guy is a 4.3 speed guy.”
While talking with the media today, Ryan said that he believes Davis is the best tight end this week and Gronkowski will be the best when they play the Patriots. Nice job of back tracking Rex.
